In recent months, the flying taxi industry has faced significant setbacks. The German companies Lilium and Volocopter have filed for insolvency, while Airbus has temporarily halted the development of its CityAirbus NextGen. The main reasons? High costs, technical challenges, and uncertain market demand.

But how much would a ride in a flying taxi cost?
Hamburg Central Station → Airbus Factory Finkenwerder (19 km): €175–350 (instead of €75 by taxi, but only an 11-minute trip)
Hamburg-Blankenese → Hamburg Airport (12-minute flight): €225–480
Currently, flying taxis are primarily attractive to affluent business travelers and VIPs.
Whether they will become affordable for the general public in the future remains to be seen.
What do you think? Will flying taxis become a real alternative or remain a niche product?
